Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, which arrived in Italy in March 2020, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum was closed for two months, and thousands of people took part in the virtual guided tours that were organised with the collaboration of the Youth Group.

It was possible to create a virtual itinerary around the Museum thanks to the support of Google Arts&Culture. Through many accurate 'street view' images of the rooms, focused on some of the artworks, our guides, even online, were able to explain everything about the collections, as if they were in the Museum.

The virtual tours were promoted through social media, and in less than a month 'virtual visitors' from all around the world were asking how they could participate. The first tours in English took place in May with attendees from Washington, Dubai, Philadelphia, London and many other cities.
